- Incredibly entertaining! We had such a great time on the tour. Jonathan is an entertaining and enthusiastic guide and everyone was made to feel very welcome and included. We learnt so much, which is not surprising as we were there from the UK, but a man who had commuted every day of his working life through GCT said he had only a smidgeon of knowledge compared with what he leant on that tour. We bumped into Jonathan on the subway afterwards and he was just as lovely as he was on the tour. Highly recommended!SidCupLondon4/02/2024
- Excellent Gilded Age tour! Like many, I love the HBO Max series Gilded Age. When I saw this walking tour was available, I jumped on it! There were about 30 of us there, and we were divided into two groups. Richard was the guide for my group. Each of us was given an ear piece to use, so that we could hear Richard very clearly. Richard absolutely knew his stuff! He started the tour with information about the Gilded Age series, so that was a thrill. His knowledge of history and architecture was both thorough and accessible which is not always the case. The tour was an easy walk, but we covered significant ground. Several times, we were able to pop inside a building - such as the Ralph Lauren flagship men's store - to see examples of Gilded Age interior finishings. After two hours, which went like a flash, my brain felt full of fascinating information. Thank you, Richard, for a splendid tour. I can't wait to take another Untapped New York tour!melanies03303/31/2024
- Jon was amazing! Our guide Jon was very knowledgeable about all of the history of the station and NYC. He was energetic and involved everyone in the tour. Well worth it. Double thumbs up to Jon!!Ronya N3/31/2024Less is More My tour group consisted of my group of four friends and three others. The tour was cram filled with interesting facts and stories about GCT. As interesting as the tales were, I would have preferred half (or perhaps 75%) of the information thrown at me to give the guide time to speak slowly. The earphones that were provided worked but not well enough for me. The noise and activity in GCT and the rapid delivery of facts made it difficult to catch all the information. Perhaps the guide was attempting to speak more to the three in the group who live(d) in NYC - they had background knowledge of the city that made the tour details more accessible for them.Kathy B3/30/2024
- Great tour of Grand Central Station Alexis was wonderful and informative. It was a great tour around Grand Central. There were only 3 in our group, so it was easy to move around. I highly recommend this tour.Kate K3/23/2024Grand Central Exploration My wife and I loved this tour. We learned so much about the history of the various buildings that eventually led to the current Grand Central Terminal. We went back to Campbell Bar after the tour for a drink and tried the Oyster Bar for lunch. Time very well spent in NYC.SJDrummer3/22/2024
- Valuable experience Valuable experience Richard the guide is very clear in his explanations, giving only interesting and easy-to-remember data. The tour was very well structured and very pleasant. A great experience if you want to know more about Grand Central Station. Super recommended!!!Raul S3/21/2024Excellent Managed to get one of the last places on an 11am tour, booked at 9am that same day. We were given earpieces so we could clearly hear the guide throughout, even when walking in a big group across a busy concourse. This worked brilliantly because she could continue to tell us interesting anecdotes as we walked from one part of the terminus to another. The guide, Rhiannon, was superb. Very friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. She illustrated the tour by showing us images on an ipad of the significant people or old photos/plans of the building, which was very helpful (though the tablet could perhaps have been a big larger for ease of viewing!) The 90 minutes flew by - it was all so fascinating and such a beautiful building. I wrote down so many facts after the tour so I could be sure of remembering them! It cost $35 and was well worth it - one of the highlights of my trip to New York.Farwriter3/21/2024
- Things you never knew about Grand Central Station The tour of Grand Central is probably one of the favorite tours I’ve ever taken. Our tour guide was terrific and shared so many little insights about the station you would never know. I grew up in New York but left many years ago. When I lived there I passed through Grand Central Station every day on my way to work, so the tour was even more meaningful for me. I would highly recommend this tour to others.drmmb3/15/2024
- Thoroughly enjoyable walking tour of Grand Central Station My wife and I know a little about the history of Grand Central and were excited to learn more. Jonathan, our guide, did not disappoint! We make it a point to take a guided tour in any city we visit, and I have to rate this particular one at the very top Jonathan was enthusiastic, hilariously witty, and a wonderful communicator. His love for the subject matter was evident. And indeed we learned so much about this iconic place. While the tour is centered on the magnificent building, we also learned so much we did not know about the Vanderbilts, the guilded age, landmarks preservation, and the importance in history and movies of the 20th Century Limited service to Chicago. For us, this tour was the highlight of our trip to NYC!Gerry A3/01/2024
- The Inside Scoop on Historic Icon Lots of behind the scenes and historical background on Grand Central Terminal. John had a wealth of information about and enthusiasm for preserving this icon. 11/2 hours of walking and standing. Be aware there is no seating available in the Terminal.Natalie H2/26/2024
