For a breakfast at Tiffany’s, you no longer have to eat your croissant and drink coffee outside its windows. Now, you can step in for a bite in the famed jewelry store’s new cafe. At its Fifth Avenue flagship store, Tiffany & Co. opened up the Blue Box Cafe on November 10. True to its name and brand, the cafe is covered in its signature Tiffany blue– a veritable Tiffany box come to life, offering a set breakfast, lunch, and tea menu.
The 180-year old New York jewelry institution has long been admired by residents and tourists alike for its timeless elegance, buoyed by the popularity of Audrey Hepburn’s visit to its window in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
In an effort to draw in more customers, the cafe space, designed by Tiffany chief artistic officer Reed Krakoff, “began from the idea of immersion in Tiffany—not only the feeling of being inside a blue box, but surrounded by Tiffany hospitality,” vice president creative director Richard Moore told Vanity Fair.
Breakfast, set at $29, serves up favorites like bagels and lox, and more decadent options like truffled eggs, while for lunch, set at $39, offers a starter of soup or salad, with a main course featuring a variety of sandwiches and salads. For a more indulgent affair, the cafe offers tea time service with fine teas, sweets, and finger sandwiches, set at $49.
So, enjoy the classic Holly Golightly breakfast in more upscale fashion on Tiffany’s fourth floor, overlooking Fifth Avenue and Central Park, while embraced by the uniquely familiar blue we’ve all come to appreciate.
