Cavalier Galleries is ushering in a new chapter this month with the opening of its Midtown flagship on W 57th Street, the cradle of the American modern art movement. For nearly 40 years, Cavalier has been a fixture in the art world, with locations in New York, Nantucket, Palm Beach, and Greenwich, representing an extraordinary roster of American and European artists.
The move from Chelsea to Midtown marks a bold investment in that mission. By situating itself in one of the most historically significant neighborhoods for American modernism, Cavalier is making world-class art more central and accessible to the public.
This ethos extends beyond the gallery walls. Cavalier continues to integrate art into New York’s daily life, from Jim Rennert’s bronze figures on Sixth Avenue to Bjorn Okholm Skaarup’s Hippo Ballerina at Fordham Lincoln Center, making art part of the city’s urban fabric long before visitors step through the doors.
