About this Tour:
Celebrate the holiday season in Victorian splendor at The Armour-Stiner Octagon House. All rooms in the house will be decorated with wreaths, garlands, and the sparkle of ornaments on three grand Christmas trees.
While exploring the colorful history of this one-of-a-kind home, visitors will see stunning examples of antique holiday décor and learn about the ways the decades of the late 19th century shaped our modern American holiday traditions.
On this exclusive tour, visitors will also hear from Jess Lombardi (daughter-in-law of the owner, Joseph Lombardi) and learn about the octagon and heart-shaped Christmas ornaments she makes on site, inspired by the 19th-century Dresden ornament tradition started in Germany.
The experience is sure to conjure a feeling of warmth and togetherness!
Things to Note:
Directions to The Armour-Stiner Octagon House by train from NYC From Grand Central Station, take Metro-North [Hudson Line] to Irvington, New York. After exiting the train, walk straight uphill along Irvington’s Main Street until you see a sign for The Old Croton Aqueduct (OCA) trail on the right side. Turn right and walk through the parking lot, which leads to the OCA path. Walk south along the OCA path for about 1 mile until you reach West Clinton Avenue. You will see The House on the right side of the OCA path. The Armour-Stiner Octagon House is located at 45 West Clinton Avenue. Enter through the gravel driveway, and a staff member will be happy to check you in for the tour.
Tours are conducted by highly trained guides and include both the exterior and interior of the home. Tickets are required for all guests, including those under the age of 18. This experience is best suited for ages 12 and up - babies and toddlers (although delightful) are not appropriate to bring along for the tour.
Free parking is available on site, along our driveway or in the circle in front of The Octagon House, but it is limited. Please do not park on West Clinton Avenue.
Restrictions
The tour is not recommended for individuals who will have difficulty walking up and down three flights of stairs or those who cannot stand for extended periods of time. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility.
Please leave all large belongings at home or in a vehicle, including luggage, large bags, tripods, and other similar items. Picnicking is not allowed on the grounds or the veranda, and food and drink are not allowed inside the house. Please make plans to enjoy your meal at another location, and leave these items in your vehicle while on the property. Pets are also not allowed inside the house or on the grounds whatsoever.
Photography Non-flash photography is allowed inside the house, and we encourage sharing your tour experience on social media. Tag us in your posts! The Armour-Stiner Octagon House can be found on Facebook and Instagram. Please refrain from using selfie sticks, tripods, or any other photography equipment while on the tour.

The event is sold out?
In-person Insider tours may have limited capacity and are booked on a first come, first served basis.
But don’t worry! Sometimes spots open up closer to the event date if there are cancellations. We also repeat our most popular events when possible so you will have another opportunity to join us. There are also multiple other members-only events weekly that you can join in!
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel more than 24 hours ahead of the scheduled event, you will receive a 100% refund. Please be courteous to your fellow Insiders and let us know if you can no longer attend so we can offer your spot to another person.
