About this Tour:

This special guided tour offers an intimate introduction to Noguchi’s New York, exploring the artist’s profound and evolving relationship with the city he called home for much of his life.

Through sculptures, project models, photographs, and archival materials, the exhibition reveals how New York’s cultural, political, and material landscapes shaped Noguchi’s artistic vision - and how his work helped reimagine the possibilities of public space and civic life.

Led by curator Kate Wiener, the tour traces Noguchi’s cross-disciplinary practice across sculpture, design, architecture, and landscape, highlighting both realized works and visionary proposals. Guests will gain deeper insight into Noguchi’s belief in art as a social force capable of shaping shared environments of reflection, imagination, and play.
