Cat Photos by Gulce Kilkis / Bodega Cats of New York
Bodega Cats of New York follows the cats who live and work inside New York’s corner stores, and the people who care for them. The book and archive look at the routines, relationships, and neighborhood stories behind one of the city’s most familiar but rarely documented parts of daily life.
Founder Dan Rimada joins us for a live talk to preview his forthcoming book and discuss his experience documenting these feline friends!
Dan Rimada is the founder of Bodega Cats of New York, a citywide archive documenting the working cats of New York City’s bodegas. The project grew out of years of store visits, owner conversations, photos, and stories from across the five boroughs.
