Behind the Scenes of "The Eternal Space," A Play About Penn Station's Demolition
This Thanksgiving, our Chief Experience Officer reflects on his gratitude for the play that changed his life!
We are just two weeks away from New York City's month-long celebration of architecture and design!
This October, you can admire Manhattan's architecture from a Hudson River cruise, explore native plants at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, get a behind-the-scenes look at the Cherry Lane Theatre's renovation, and take part in hundreds of other architecture and design-centered events, exhibitions, tours, and workshops as part of Archtober!
From October 1st through October 31st, more than 100 partners throughout the five boroughs—including Municipal Art Society of New York, American Institute of Architects, Untapped New York, and more—invite New Yorkers to examine and engage with our built environment.

The theme for this year's 15th annual festival is Shared Spaces. This framework encourages us to re-envision how we move, connect, and live together in New York City. It also fosters engagement between collaborators who are actively shaping and experiencing the city, whether they are architects, urban developers, activists, civic organizations, or members of the public.
Beloved annual activities such as Building of the Day tours and the live pumpkin carving competition, Pumpkitecture, will return for 2025. The Building of the Day lineup just dropped online! Tickets for these popular tours tend to go fast, so start planning your visits now.
Alongside those fan-favorite traditions are exciting new events, from a talk on how to upgrade the city from livable to lovable, to an exhibition on Archigram: The Magazine. You can see all Archtober events here. There are even online resources, Anytime Activities, that you can access on demand.

Untapped New York Members at the Insider tier and higher have exclusive access to a limited number of free tickets to popular Achtober events such as Pumpkiteture and the Arthur M. Rosenblatt Memorial Lecture. See all upcoming member events here.
Untapped New York is thrilled to offer our signature walking tours along with brand new experiences this Archtober! Put on a hard hat and join us for a walk through Ellis Island's abandoned hospital complex, uncover the hidden power infrastructure along Manhattan's waterfront as we ride the ferry, track down remnants of Queens' two World's Fairs, examine the Art Deco skyscrapers of Manhattan from underground, and more.
New this year, we are introducing a nighttime tour of Grand Central Terminal that ends with a drink at one of the station's new eateries and a limited-run Sunset Tour of the Brooklyn Bridge!

This October, join us in celebrating the city and gaining a deeper understanding of the urban spaces we all share!
