About this Event:

This virtual lecture will celebrate The Panorama of the City of New York on the occasion of the newest publication celebrating the model and the 60th anniversary of the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair. We will discuss the Panorama’s purpose, creation, and special features, and consider how this object reflected priorities of the World’s Fair in 1964. The talk will be animated by documentary photographs depicting the labor-intensive process undertaken to produce this object, and archival materials from the World’s Fair Collection at Queens Museum
