When the original Tracks Raw Bar & Grill at Penn Station shut down over Labor Day weekend in 2019, we mourned the loss of the beloved commuter spot. The restaurant relocated to 220 West 31st Street to make way for renovations to the Long Island concourse. Now, almost exactly six years to the day of its Penn Station closure, Tracks has a new train station location, this time at Grand Central Madison.

Tracks is the first restaurant to open inside Grand Central Madison since service to the station began in 2023. You can find the restaurant on the concourse level next to the Long Island Railroad ticketing area between 46th and 47th Streets. (Here's a guide to the station's subtle wayfinding signs you can use to get there!)

Reaction to the opening on social media has been mixed. While some commenters expressed excitement for the establishment's return, others noted its "sterile" aesthetic and expressed nostalgia for the original location. The new Tracks is predominantly grey and black with tan leather bar stools, a long bar, high-top seating, and some booths. In the gallery below, you can see photos of the original location, which featured tile floors, a dark wood bar and paneling, railroad memorabilia, and train-themed murals.

Another Tracks location is expected to open inside Penn Station, and owner Bruce Caulfield told NY1 last year, "It’s gonna look very much like the old Tracks with the wood and train car look.” There have been no recent updates on when that location is set to open.

Tracks at Grand Central Madison is open every day from noon to midnight, with food service between 3 pm and 10 pm. The menu features chilled martinis, craft cocktails, and beer, alongside seafood dishes and the restaurant's award-winning chowder, Cajun chicken sandwich, and mac & cheese.
