The Lost Biltmore Hotel's Iconic Clock is Hiding in a Grand Central Cafe
A famous NYC meeting-spot clock survived demolition and is now hiding inside a Midtown coffee shop!
You know the musical. Now see what it left out. Walk in the footsteps of Alexander Hamilton on a tour of Lower Manhattan.

How does "a bastard, orphan, son of a whore and a Scotsman, dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in the Caribbean by providence, impoverished and squalor, grow up to be a hero and a scholar?"
Follow in the footsteps of Alexander Hamilton on an immersive walking tour through Lower Manhattan—the birthplace of New York City and the cradle of America’s political and financial power.
From colonial cobblestones to world famous landmarks, this tour traces Hamilton’s extraordinary rise from a young Caribbean immigrant to one of the most influential figures in American history.
Fans of the hit Broadway musical Hamilton will recognize the real places behind the lyrics. We connect Lin-Manuel Miranda’s storytelling to the true history—exploring how songs like “My Shot,” “The Room Where It Happens,” and “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story” are rooted in real events that unfolded right where you’re standing.
Meet your guide at the steps of the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House (Museum of the American Indian), located at 1 Bowling Green, facing Bowling Green Park. Please arrive 10 minutes early.
Manhattan's oldest public park and the site of one of the Revolution's most dramatic acts: a night of protest when Patriots tore down a statue of King George III after a public reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Before the British occupation of New York City, this site served as the headquarters of George Washington, then a Custom House where Hamilton himself oversaw the customs system as the first Secretary of the Treasury.
On December 4, 1783, nine days after the last British troops left New York City, George Washington gathered his officers inside this tavern to deliver his farewell address.
See where Hamilton founded the Bank of New York in 1784, the country's oldest bank, and where Aaron Burr later founded the Bank of Manhattan in direct competition.
George Washington took the oath of office here as Hamilton, as his incoming Secretary of the Treasury, stood nearby.
The site of Hamilton's First Bank of the United States, chartered in 1791.
The tour ends at Hamilton's final resting place. He was buried here on July 14, 1804, three days after the duel with Aaron Burr.
