Art Nerd NY Street Art Hotspots: Kenny Scharf’s Red Scary Guy #2

Everywhere you turn on the Lower East Side, you come face to face with a Kenny Scharf piece. Most of them come out secretly at night, when business owners close their roll down gates. Kenny’s Red Scary Guy is making a particular splash this summer, with the shiny sculptural version holding court at the Standard Highline for the season. His spray painted version is on a roll down gate of a shady hat store on Orchard Street that is called New Era Factory Outlet… but it has nothing to do with the ball cap megabrand.
