Providing goods and treats for your Thursday aperitifs and Sunday brunches, the French Cheese Board blends art, design, and food in ways that appeal to connoisseurs and eager diners wanting to learn more about French cheese. The store is an “ambassador of the French cheese experience and also serves as a platform for conversations and debates.”
The French Cheese Board features events and exhibits where food becomes the centerpiece for engaged communication. The interior was designed by French designers Ich&Kar. The store also serves as a lab of ideas, where people can participate in cooking lessons, wine and cheese pairings sessions, interactive presentations on how to indulge in French cheese, and interactive displays dedicated to the art and craft of cheese. The boutique offers French cookware and accessories.
France has the widest variety of cheese families of any country, with about 1,300 cheeses. The French Cheese Board lists their picks for the top 10 French cheeses: mimolette, blue d’Auvergne, brie, comté, pont-l’Évêque, Saint-Nectaire, triple-crème, camembert, emmental, and raclette. At cheese tasting classes, cheese lovers can learn about the different varieties, how they are made, and how to prepare the perfect cheese board using a variety of colors, textures, and milk types.
In addition to these classes and wine and cheese pairings, the French Cheese Board has put on “Bloomy Rind Exhibits,” in which bloomy rind cheeses that are soft, fluffy, and white are presented alongside edible flowers. From June 26 until July 17, they are hosting their third season of “Tour de Fromage.” Every day. they post on Instagram at a random time, and the first three people who come into the store and name what was posted will win it.
