The new piece on the Bowery Mural is starting to take shape. “Urbanmythology” is by Spanish street artists Pichi&Avo, who will follow Logan Hicks’ popular, Instagram-friendly piece, Story of My Life. Pichi & Avo are known for their distinctive works that meld Neoclassical figurative painting with more traditional tagging and a touch of surrealism. The work isn’t completed yet, but scroll down for more photos and see some completed works by the Pichi & Avo from other cities.
A teaser video on the Pichi&Avo’s Facebook page states, “We watch, we listen and we remember. The past already written” with a montage of previous works and shots of the artists en route to New York.
The Bowery Mural is an initiative by developer Tony Goldman in partnership with Jeffrey Deitch and Deitch Projects which launched in 2008. This work by Pichi&Avo is expected to be completed by February 4th.
