About this Event:
Untapped New York members are invited to experience a private Jazz listening session supplemented by the music expertise of Hot Club director Matthew "Fat Cat" Rivera!
The Hot Club of New York is a jazz listening community located in the heart of New York City. Run by Matthew "Fat Cat" Rivera, the Hot Club holds a collection of over 10,000 original 78rpm shellac records and a exceptional vintage sound system that allows the listener full immersion into classic jazz recordings of the 1910s-1950s.
About Your Guide, Matthew "Fat Cat" Rivera:
Matthew "Fat Cat" Rivera is an archivist, writer, and director of the Hot Club of New York. Rivera got his start at Columbia University’s radio station, WKCR, where he studied with jazz historian Phil Schaap. He has written about jazz for the New York Review of Books and BOMB, and he is currently writing the first book-length biography of the musician Frankie Newton. He still hosts a jazz radio program, going ten years strong, on WKCR.

How many tickets can I reserve?
If you are an Insider level member ($20/month), you can reserve 1 discounted ticket to this event. Explorer level members ($30/month) or Superfan ($100/month) can reserve 2 discounted tickets.

The event is sold out?
In-person member experiences may have limited capacity and are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
But don’t worry! Sometimes spots open up closer to the event date if there are cancellations. Join the waitlist to be notified when open spots or new dates become available. We repeat our most popular events when possible, so you will have another opportunity to join us.
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel more than 24 hours ahead of the scheduled event, you will receive a 100% refund. Please be courteous to your fellow members and let us know if you can no longer attend so we can offer your spot to another person.
To cancel your booking, simply click on « cancel booking » in the confirmation email you received upon booking. The confirmation email was sent from messages@fareharbor.com
