Caretaker-Led Halloween Tour of the Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery
Spend Halloween walking among the graves of a historic garden cemetery!
Tour Highlights:
- Peek inside the family crypt of the cemetery founder to see its state before restoration
- Stop at the graves of notable and famous figures such as Frank Robbins, famous for his circus train and its colorful advertisements
- Step inside the cemetery caretakers' house

About this Event:
Spend the afternoon of Halloween with a cemetery caretaker at one of the oldest cemeteries in New Jersey!
The historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery is just across the river and one of the oldest rural, garden style cemeteries in the United States, dating to 1831. On this tour led by caretaker Mandy Edgecombe, you will learn the history of the cemetery’s founding and stroll past the ornate architecture of 19th century monuments, filming location from The Sopranos funeral scenes, and notable local burials with stories that intertwine with the history of Jersey City and the country.

Mandy Edgecombe is an expert guide who has been part of the Untapped New York for 10 years. She’s also a Commissioner of Preservation with the city of Jersey City, an artist, event promoter, and a caretaker of the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery.

In-person member experiences may have limited capacity and are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
But don’t worry! Sometimes spots open up closer to the event date if there are cancellations. Join the waitlist to be notified when open spots or new dates become available. We repeat our most popular events when possible, so you will have another opportunity to join us.
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel more than 24 hours ahead of the scheduled event, you will receive a 100% refund. Please be courteous to your fellow members and let us know if you can no longer attend so we can offer your spot to another person.
