12 Time Capsules Discovered in NYC
From the Westinghouse Time Capsules to one of the oldest known, these artifacts help us to understand what the city was like in the past.
I love the old ads painted on the side of brick buildings. Not the new ones for movies or clothes that are changed out once a month, but the really old ones that predate most of the skyscrapers in midtown. They are usually weathered and barely legible in some places. People these days are in such a hurry to get rid of the old and put up something shinny and new, so I’m delightfully surprised when I do spot one.
This ad for real estate services takes up four floors of a building on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Kenmare Street, right off of Bowery in Little Italy.
