A Taste of New York Food Tour
On our Taste of New York tour, you’ll join longtime Lower East Side resident and expert tour guide Richard Soden for a 3-hour culinary journey through Lower Manhattan. As you sample traditional Italian, Chinese, and Jewish foods, you’ll learn about the immigrant history of these famous neighborhoods and uncover historic remnants converted for modern-day use. You’ll leave with a full stomach and a full mind!

This synagogue built in 1887 was the first great house of worship by Eastern European Jews in the United States. For decades, the synagogue thrived, but in the 1920s Jewish families began to move away from the Lower East Side, and it was eventually abandoned.
