TUESDAY, JUNE 25: Join Neil Goldberg and members of Elastic City (Juan Betancurth, Todd Shalom & Niegel Smith) for “Evening Stars” in various locations within Times Square for a performance that responds to Goldberg’s video, “Surfacing.” Fifteen performers will be stationed around Times Square with specially calibrated telescopes that will allow for an utterly unique stargazing experience in the heart of New York. 11:40pm at 1560 Broadway. THURSDAY, JUNE 27: In collaboration with Fondazione Renzo Piano, Gagosian Gallery is pleased to present “Fragments,” an exhibition of more than thirty years of architectural projects by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop. Equal parts library reading room, school classroom, and natural history gallery, the exhibition consists of twenty-four tabletop displays of scale models, drawings, photographs, and video. Each tells the involved, inspiring story of the design process of a single building, from museums, libraries, and airports to private residences. FRIDAY, JUNE 28: NYC Pride Week Kickoff Rally. The Rally showcases well-known performers and motivating speakers to kick-off NYC Pride’s official events. The first NYC Pride Rally occurred one month after the Stonewall Riots in June 1969, when 500 people gathered for a “Gay Power” demonstration in Washington Square Park, followed by a candlelight vigil in Sheridan Square. 7-10pm at Hudson River Park’s Pier 26 on West St. in TriBeCa.
